Defibrillators and accessories you need to help save lives

A cardiac arrest can happen to someone at any time so whether it’s in the workplace, at school, a train station or a shopping centre, it’s important to be prepared by having a defibrillator to hand. At First Aid Warehouse, we have a range of defibrillators and AED devices so you can ensure that everyone in the community and the workplace has their health protected.

Using a defibrillator within the first 3 minutes of collapse can increase the chances of survival by 70%. The chances are reduced by 10% every minute after this so it’s critically important to act as quickly as possible.

Whether you’ve had minimal first aid training or you’re an experienced first aider, you can choose from reliable and safe semi or fully automatic defibrillators that can be used with ease. Here’s a closer look at our defibrillator and accessories to help you save lives:

Automatic defibrillators

An automatic external defibrillator (AED) delivers a measured electrical current to the heart to stop the abnormal rhythm, allowing it to restore its natural beat. Though all of our defibrillators analyse the ECG rhythm to determine the need for a shock, our AEDs have built-in digital signal techniques to prevent an electric current to someone who doesn’t need it. Fully automatic defibrillators administer the shock without the need for manual prompts, whereas a semi-automatic defibrillator requires the rescuer to press a button to deliver the electric current.

Our Defibtech Lifeline Fully Automatic Defibrillator is so simple to use that even those with a non-medical background can successfully save lives! Defibtech includes clever technology that offers the most advanced treatment for Sudden Cardiac Arrest. This Lifeline AED was developed by experienced multidisciplinary engineering teams and incorporates state-of-the-art digital signal processing techniques and advanced ECG analysis algorithms.

This is a standard piece of equipment for first response professionals like police, fire and EMS. It’s fast becoming as vital as the fire extinguisher for offices, schools, shops, factories and public places.

Semi-automatic defibrillators

Differing from fully automatic AEDs, semi-automatic defibrillators deliver a countdown to the moment when the charge should be administered to the patient.

The Defibtech Lifeline Semi-Automatic Defibrillator is one of the simplest and most easy to use defibrillators on the market. It has bright buttons and clear verbal and visual instructions to guide any untrained user through each step of the rescue process, as well as bright status indicators to show it’s ready to go. It’s easy to carry for transportation and runs diagnostic tests so that it’s rescue ready at all times.

Defibrillator training

Our AED trainer units allow first aiders to practice using a defibrillator in a safe environment. We stock a range of defibrillator training devices where users can gain hands-on experience of using an AED device. This will allow the learner to gain knowledge and confidence to act quickly in a cardiac attack emergency.

Our DefibTech Stand Alone Trainer Package can be used to teach students in the various operating modes of Defibtech DDU-100 Series AEDs and in the use of an AED as part of a standard rescue protocol.

Defibrillator accessories

For defibrillators to carry out the important job of saving lives, accessories must be used and replaced. We stock a wide range of accessories including defibrillator batteries, AED defibrillator wall mounts and cases and defibrillator pads.

Emergency defibrillator batteries will last a long time though most will need replacing every 2 - 7 years. To avoid being caught out when a cardiac arrest emergency takes place, make sure to have spare batteries to hand. We stock a variety of AED battery replacements, including brands such as iPad, Zoll, Laerdal and DefibTech.

It’s important that your defibrillator machine is not only stored correctly and safely but is easy to get hold of in an emergency. Our extensive range of AED cabinets and cases include everything from alarmed or non-alarmed to wall-mounted cabinets that provide security and high visibility. For first aiders on the move, our defibrillator carry cases are ideal for transportation.

Lastly, we supply a range of AED pads and defibrillator training pads which can be used with brands such as iPad, Zoll and DefibTech. It’s recommended to have a few spare pairs of these pads at all times, you never know when they’ll be needed. We also stock paediatric AED pads that can be used with your defibrillator to carry out a reduced shock to a child during a cardiac arrest. These are ideal for having on standby in schools.
